Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $17.25 to $22.50 per hour. (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements).

The Campus Access Specialist serves as the first point of contact at all entrances of the hospital for visitors, patients and employees utilizing the Visitor Management System. The Campus Access Specialist listens and responds to visitors’ service needs with the appropriate level of urgency, providing direction and information as appropriate. 

 

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

  • Check in visitors, vendors or any non-patient persons entering the hospital. 

  • Contact departments via phone for visitation, vendors, questions, or concerns.

  • Provide directions to those entering the hospital.

  • Assist with Interviewing, training, evaluations and scheduling of Campus Access Specialists.

  • Assist with wheelchairs for those in need.

  • Awareness of surroundings; contact Security with any concerns/issues.

  • Assist with ID badging questions or concerns; contact security for assistance as necessary.

  • Assist with maintaining a safe and clean work area, keeping areas clear of safety issues (wet floors, carpets, signs blocking egress etc.) 
    Incident report writing.
  • Accepts deliveries from outside vendors; coordinate with departments for pick up. 

 

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Education/Accredited Programs: High School diploma or GED required

  • Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policies/procedures.

    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    • Project a professional image. Must be friendly, personable, and always alert to customer needs.

    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all individuals in a friendly, positive manner and possibly in adverse situations.

    • Basic math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compute in all units of measure.

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations such as those relating to the security function.

    • Ability to use computers.

    • Ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities.
