WyoTech is seeking dependable, professional, and service-minded individuals to join our Campus Safety team as a CSO I or CSO II. This position is designed as more than a traditional entry-level security job. WyoTech has developed a professional Campus Safety career pathway that provides employees an opportunity to receive structured training, develop public-safety skills, earn additional qualifications, and advance within the department. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducting proactive vehicle and foot patrols of WyoTech-managed properties
• Responding to calls for service, alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, student-welfare concerns, and other safety-related incidents
• Identifying suspicious activity, safety hazards, property concerns, and policy violations
• Providing a visible Campus Safety presence 
• Using communication and de-escalation skills to resolve conflicts and stabilize situations
• Preparing accurate, objective, and professional incident reports and patrol documentation
• Gathering preliminary information and documenting incidents for administrative or law-enforcement follow-up
• Monitoring security cameras, radios, and other Campus Safety technology
• Supporting parking and traffic-safety programs
• Coordinating with Laramie law enforcement and other emergency services
• Assisting students, employees, and visitors while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
• Participating in ongoing training, professional development, emergency exercises, and Campus Safety initiatives

CSO I Minimum Qualifications (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent, would be qualifying):

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet WyoTech driving requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during challenging situations
• Ability to work assigned days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to successfully complete the WyoTech Campus Safety Officer Training Program
• Ability to obtain and maintain required First Aid, CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, and other designated certifications

CSO II Qualifications (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent, would be qualifying):

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Security Management, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field
• Approximately 60 semester credit hours of college-level education
• At least two years of relevant law-enforcement, security, campus safety, corrections, emergency-services, public-safety, or substantially related experience
• Relevant Military Police, Security Forces, force-protection, or comparable military experience
• Successful completion of a recognized law-enforcement or public-safety academy
• Significant relevant professional training or certifications
