Job Description:

Job Summary: Ensure safe shipment of all aircraft landing gear components by building custom crates to be shipped across the country and overseas. Perform general preventative building maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build shipping crates according to product specification
• Utilize common manual and power tools
• Measure and cut wood, foam and harnesses
• Operate a forklift
• Scrap unusable inventory
• Perform some preventative building maintenance that does not require a licensed professional
• Manages small projects without supervision
• Effectively communicate with coworkers and vendors
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Supervisor

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or an Equivalent
• Forklift certified
• Successfully completed 90 days with proven ability to use any job-related tools properly and safely, follow instruction, and work independently
• Proficient in the English language
• Occasional overtime
• This position is safety sensitive and is subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations.

Abilities and Skills:

• Able to demonstrate carpentry skills
• Able to perform basic building maintenance
• Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product
• Excellent organizational skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Bend, twist, stretch or reach with body, arms and legs
• Manual and finger dexterity
• Near vision
