Carpenter for Preschool

Kensington School is seeking a detail-oriented and talented carpenter to bring ideas to life by building custom structures for both our classrooms and outdoor playgrounds. Join our Building & Grounds team as our resident carpenter and play a key role in creating engaging, functional and beautiful spaces for our school community.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operating a variety of woodworking tools safely and effectively


• Applying woodworking skills to custom designs


• Completing trim work for indoor spaces


• Building and assembling furniture based on plans


• Lifting and carrying materials (40 lbs or more)
  


• Learning and applying hands-on skills


• Completing tasks in a timely and efficient manner


• Communicating effectively while also working independently


• Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a state background check


• Professional references required


• Willingness to travel between school locations as workload demands

Position Details:
This is a year-round position with opportunities for growth and on-site training through special projects. Scheduling is flexible based on workload. This role may be either:

• Full-time (40 hours/week), or


• Part-time (30–39 hours/week)

Benefits:

• Full-time employees (40 hours/week) are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).


• Employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k).

Compensation:
$25–$40 per hour.
