SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Carrier Development Managers oversee an entire regional team. Their main responsibility is to ensure effective and positive work is being done every day to contribute to our overall customer service. The CDMs oversee the region's same day load bookers (RDMs) as well as the operations specialists assigned to that region.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• Monitor and assist same day load bookers (RDMs) to ensure all freight shipping same/next day is covered.


• Monitor the growth and opportunity within contracted carriers across assigned regions.


• Set coverage expectations based on the needs of customers.


• Ensure coverage is efficient and consistent across our core network of carriers.


• Collaborating with Carrier Sales and RDMs to make sure we execute at a high level from a coverage standpoint.


• Be a driver on all vendor tools, ensuring we get ample feedback from the team.


• Assist and coach team members around new and existing tech tools.


• Assist in negotiating rates and volume commitments with carriers.


• Obtain shipment updates from contractors, including dispatching shipments booked on the morning of ship dates.


• Monitor and step in on escalations when necessary.


• Provide accurate and efficient feedback that the pricing, customer, and operations teams can use to further our success and improve the ability to procure more freight/coverage.


• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed to meet targets.


• Be the main voice for your region and team. Be the first to take initiative and lead positive communication across departments in efforts to boost customer service.


• Oversee all bookings amongst your assigned team to ensure high levels of service as well as sustained profitability.


• Maintain a high level of service centered around carrier relationships, making sure the team is living up to expectations around how we conduct business with carriers.


• Monitor rates and volume commitments amongst carriers within each specific region.


• Provide rate and coverage feedback in real time to our customer and pricing team to help pivot or boost any real-time coverage strategy.


• Oversee all tracking for your assigned region.


• Work with your dedicated operations specialist to establish daily protocol to make sure all shipments within the region are updated accurately and in a timely manner.


• Ensure that the dedicated tracking rep is up to date on every established network or owned carrier and will ensure effective communication and conduct all necessary updates.


• Work hand in hand with Freight Hero on continuous improvement and integration within Truckload Operations.


• Assist, when necessary, on tracking escalations, pointing situations to the Truckload Escalations Manager while also ensuring accurate and timely communication exists with account teams.


• Monitor and approve all team members' hours within BambooHR Timesheets
