The Talladega Regional Center provides a continuum of services to individuals from infancy through adulthood. The Case Management Aide is an integral part of the Talladega Regional Center team by assisting with the development, expansion, and provision of unique programs and services for individuals who are Deaf, Blind, and/or DeafBlind. This role provides direct services in a variety of areas including money management, case management, supportive housing, transportation, and other Regional Center programs and services.
A primary responsibility will be assisting with the Consumer Money Management Program by helping consumers manage their personal finances, like writing checks, paying bills, and keeping track of cash, income, or benefits. The service also includes training to help others acquire, retain, or improve those skills. The ideal candidate is one who is self-motivated, possesses good organization skills, attentive to details, and excels while working in a fast-paced team environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Fleet Coverage: Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record and the ability to be insured under AIDB's insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial Experience: Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, banking, financial recordkeeping, cash handling, accounts reconciliation, or related financial responsibilities preferred.
- Target Experience: Experience working with individuals with disabilities, human services, social services, healthcare, education, or community-based programs preferred.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Consumer Money Management & Financial Support
- Program Administration: Assist the Social Worker in administering the Consumer Money Management Program.
- Financial Guidance: Assist consumers with budgeting, financial planning, bill payment, banking transactions, and financial recordkeeping.
- Documentation & Records: Prepare checks, receipts, deposits, and financial reports while maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile consumer financial accounts and maintain supporting documentation in accordance with AIDB policies and applicable regulations.
- Safeguarding Funds: Safeguard consumer funds and ensure financial transactions are completed accurately, ethically, and confidentially.
- Skills Development: Assist consumers in developing money management skills that promote financial independence.
Case Management & Direct Consumer Support
- Case Assistance: Assist Case Managers with consumer services, documentation, scheduling, and follow-up activities.
- Appointment Coordination: Coordinate consumer appointments and assist with referrals and access to community resources.
- Electronic Case Management: Maintain accurate consumer demographic and service information within AIDB's electronic case management system (ECM).
- Transportation & Outings: Transport consumers and Regional Center staff to appointments, community activities, educational programs, and meetings using agency vehicles.
- Onsite Support: Assist consumers during appointments by providing administrative or communication support as appropriate.
- Community Integration: Support consumers in accessing community resources and participating in activities that promote independence and inclusion.
Administration & Operations
- Clerical Support: Provide clerical and administrative assistance to Regional Center staff.
- Records Maintenance: Maintain organized financial and consumer records.
- Documentation: Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other administrative documents.
- Customer Service: Answer telephone calls professionally and assist consumers, families, and community partners.
- Program Support: Assist in planning, coordinating, and participating in educational workshops, community outreach events, consumer activities, support groups, and statewide AIDB programs.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives that support Regional Center operations.
- Schedule Agility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or early morning hours based on consumer and program needs.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, bend, stoop, and move up to twenty-five (25) pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive consumer and financial information.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
- Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills alongside strong organizational, mathematical, and recordkeeping abilities.
Professional Development and Certifications
- Sensitivity Training: Successfully complete AIDB Deaf and Blind Sensitivity Training within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
- Sign Language Proficiency: Achieve a Sign Language proficiency level of SURVIVAL within twelve (12) months of employment and INTERMEDIATE proficiency within thirty-six (36) months.
- Braille Competency: Demonstrate competency in reading and writing Braille by earning a minimum score of 80% on the AIDB Braille Skills Assessment Inventory within thirty (30) months of employment.
- Ongoing Training: Successfully complete all required agency training and continuing education.

SALARY:
- High School / GED (Scale C5 Rank 27): $14.00 - $16.24
- 30 Semester Hours (Scale C5 Rank 29): $14.64 - $17.03
- 60 Semester Hours (Scale C5 Rank 32): $15.69 - $18.30
(Semester hours must be in a related field to receive credit)
260 Days; Direct deposit required
