About CCMEP

WIA’s Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP) is part of an innovative initiative that helps low-income young adults ages 18–24 build career paths, find employment, and break the cycle of poverty. CCMEP is unique in that it blends funding from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) youth program and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program — giving case managers the flexibility to build individualized services around each customer's strengths and needs, rather than fitting customers into a one-size-fits-all program.

As part of this team, you'll help connect customers — many of whom are low-income, parenting, in or formerly in foster care, homeless, disabled, or working toward a GED or diploma — with services such as paid work experience, career coaching, education and training, mentoring, mental health support, child care, transportation, and more. This is a chance to do work that focuses on people and helps young adults imagine and reach their greatness.

Job Summary

The Employment Services Professional provides assessment and case management services within one of the organization's core program areas. You'll guide customers through every stage of the customer journey — from eligibility through case management, employment readiness, training enrollment, job search, and follow-up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Screen customers for program appropriateness and eligibility; refer them as needed to OhioMeansJobs Stark and Tuscarawas Counties, partner programs, and local community resource
• Process enrollment paperwork, customer agreements, and contracts
• Provide case management support throughout each customer's plan, coordinating with internal and external partners to help customers secure and report employment
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely customer case notes and files, and enter data into required systems
• Prepare customer training budgets based on published tuition rates, allowable supplemental costs, and grant allocations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local providers, community collaboratives, and partner initiatives
• Guide and support customers in line with their goals to keep them engaged and active in program services; track attendance and collect required documentation
• Stay up to date on industry trends, training program options, in-demand occupations, and local community resources
• Collaborate with the team to solve problems, set goals, and strengthen the organization's services
• Learn and effectively use the software systems relevant to your role
• Follow up with customers to ensure supplemental activities are completed
• Develop and update individualized employability plans that address barriers and connect customers to employment and training opportunities
• Provide labor market and career guidance tailored to each customer's needs
• Use the OhioMeansJobs.com system to match job seekers with employers based on their needs and qualifications
• Assist customers with OhioMeansJobs.com registration, resume creation and uploading, and completing career profile assessments
• Accurately enter and document all required information in state and/or local data systems

 Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in case management. 
• Experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
• Ability to learn and apply program guidelines and eligibility requirements. 
• Ability to communicate/present information effectively in verbal, written and presentation form to individuals as well as groups.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and model professionalism. 
• Strong computer skills needed in Microsoft applications as well as ability to navigate state and local electronic software systems.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and effectively manages multiple tasks and meets deadlines.
• Knowledge of local community resources and services.
• Experience in engaging and motivating participants throughout their career exploration, education/training program and employment search efforts.
• Ability to travel within the service area, between offices, and for program training activities. 
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License.

WIA also operates the OhioMeansJobs Centers in Stark and Tuscarawas Counties; a partnership of community organizations providing employment, training, and education resources. The centers are located in Canton and New Philadelphia. WIA staff fulfill roles that directly assist job seeker and business customers with their workforce needs.
