The Cashier’s duties and responsibilities include greeting and checking out shoppers when they are ready to make a purchase. Cashiers also take orders, answer questions about
products and always keep a positive and engaging attitude. Serve customers in a fast-paced environment. Able to work as part of a team while working closely with co-workers.
Customer Service
Greet and acknowledge customers.
Check out customers in a timely and efficient manner.
Answer phone calls with a helpful and positive disposition.
Take walk-in and phone orders from customers.
Be attentive to customer needs in a timely manner.
Provide a positive experience as customers shop including answering all questions.
Skills and Experience
Prior experience as a cashier is preferred but not required.
Working knowledge of electronic equipment like cash register and POS.
Requires strong math skills with ability to count money and balance cash drawers.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Customer satisfaction oriented.
Thrive in a team environment.
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on holidays, as needed.
Must be able to get along with coworkers while working in close quarters.
