Position Summary

The Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while accurately managing point-of-sale transactions and cash handling. This role performs all FOH Crew responsibilities, with the added responsibility of ringing in orders, processing payments, selling gift cards, and maintaining cash drawer accuracy. As a Crew Level 2 position, the Cashier plays an essential role in ensuring smooth operations and a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all FOH Crew responsibilities including greeting guests, bussing tables, running food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.


• Accurately ring all orders into the POS system and process payments (cash, credit card, gift card, etc.).


• Open, balance, and close cash drawers following Olive & Finch cash handling procedures.


• Reconcile cash at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies promptly.


• Sell gift cards and manage inventory as directed by management.


• Ensure accuracy in all transactions and maintain integrity with company funds.


• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures.


• Provide friendly, efficient service to guests and resolve basic guest concerns.


• Collaborate with FOH and BOH teams to ensure smooth service and uphold brand standards.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, POS, or money-handling experience preferred but not required.


• Excellent guest service and communication skills.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage cash accurately.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay calm under pressure.


• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.


• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the General Manager. This position does not have direct reports.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on, guest-facing position requiring extended periods of standing, walking, and handling cash transactions. Must be able to bend, lift, and move quickly to support service. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
