Job Description - Cashier/Receptionist



Cashier / Receptionist


Central Valley Automotive is looking for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Cashier/Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.


In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, answering incoming calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate department, and assisting with cashiering and administrative duties. You will also support basic accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities



  • Process customer payments accurately using the dealership's computer system

  • Receive and record cash, check, and credit card payments

  • Issue receipts and provide accurate change when necessary

  • Answer incoming calls and direct customers to the appropriate department

  • Operate the dealership's multi-line telephone system

  • Provide professional, courteous, and efficient customer service at all times

  • Minimize customer wait times and ensure inquiries are handled promptly

  • Assist with basic accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable support

  • Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate

  • Support managers and departments with clerical and administrative tasks as needed

  • Maintain knowledge of dealership departments and procedures to assist customers effectively

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive customer experience


Qualifications



  • Previous receptionist, cashier, customer service, or administrative experience preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed

  • Ability to communicate customer needs and concerns effectively to management and staff

  • Basic accounting knowledge is preferred

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
