• Days - M-F 2p-10p, alternating w/e; Mon-Fri 10a-6pm, every other weekend
• Evening - Varied 4p-12a, alt. wknds/holidays; Mon-Fri 2p-10p alt w/e & holidays; M-F 3p-11pm/ alternating w/e; 2:30pm-10:30pm Alt W/E and holidays
• Nights - Fri, Sat, Sun, 7p-7a

Compensation Details:

• Salary Range: $79,788.35 - $119,682.23/yr

Position Summary:

Performs routine and some special procedure imaging. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists radiologists. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Processes images /CDs when needed. Adheres to established radiology standards of care. Applies principles of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self and others. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance. Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing CAT scan equipment. Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

• Understands and adheres to the Hospital Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires
• Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered
• Assists physicians during procedures as necessary
• Processes images, or prints CD’s if needed
• Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/ films, documents information on patients’ in EPIC, hospital RIS and PACs digital x-ray system
• Performs New York State and ACR quality assurance tasks and calibrations
• Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospital

Education & Experience Requirements:

• The CAT Scan Technologist must be a graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program. NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required. ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph
• (R) and or (CT) certified and / or NMTCB registered (CNMT), and documented training and experience in operating CT equipment and radiation physics and protection.
• Passing advanced CT examination /certification within 1 year from date of hire.
• Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
• Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a two-year period depending on year of birth.
• DOH IV certification preferred or by completion of 6-month orientation.
• BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed with 90 days of hire.
• Radiation dose pledge for both Image Gently and Image Wisely through the American College of Radiology (ACR) will be performed during the orientation process and before end of probationary period.
