Catering Sales Manager

Title: Catering Sales Manager reporting to the CEO

TooJay’s Deli is seeking a self-starting, team-oriented Catering Sales Manager in the South Florida market. This full-time position requires a go getter who can seek out new catering clients and continue to upsell current clients; ultimately growing the TooJay’s Catering business. Candidate must be an ambassador for the brand ensuring guests are “sold” on TooJay’s and comfortable presenting catering packages. Proactive, creative sales strategies are a must, as is cultivating new relationships. Ultimate goal is to drive revenue and foster relationships with customers that will last a lifetime.

Skills/Education Requirements:

• Education: Associate degree (two year college or technical school) preferred


• Experience: Two (2) to four (4) years related Minimum three years in the Hospitality/Restaurant industry with management experience in catering and sales.


• Excellent written communication, verbal communication and organizational


• Ability to travel in-area to generate sales more than 50% of the workweek


• Ability to work extended hours including nights and


• Public speaking experience a


• Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Knowledge of Tripleseat and Open Table booking system preferred.

Job Description:

• Create a positive guest experience and provide quality service through detailed event planning and follow up.


• Partner with Meeting Planners, Local Community Groups, Major Corporations in the Area, Hotels, Destination Companies, Convention & Visitor Bureaus/Associations, and other relevant groups through outside sales strategies to generate banquet and catering


• Daily prospecting calls to qualify accounts and opportunities and generate new leads and interest in the market consistently.


• Conduct Sales Presentations, meetings and host events – onsite and offsite with qualified clients on a weekly basis.


• Follow up on online leads and inquiry calls to secure high closing and conversion.


• Implement promotions and programs with local groups based on your city’s trends (i.e. conventions, special events, local businesses, etc.) to solicit group bookings and/or increase foot traffic to the restaurant. 


• Collaborate with Corporate Sales Team by creating awareness of upcoming and current promotions with the above mentioned groups.  


• Report to the head of Sales and Marketing for TooJay’s on weekly activities and sales.  


• Work closely with General Manager to measure local market impact and exposure versus related expenditures of current programs and promotions.

Physical Requirements:

• Medium work, exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force, frequently or constantly, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects


• Able to operate copiers, fax, and PC


• Ability to reach overhead, bend below the waist, crouch, lift, stand, sit, twist and communicate intentions
