California Research Center Electrophysiology, Inc (CRC EP, Inc.), a Biotronik business unit located in Tustin, CA,  develops pulsed-field cardiac ablation (PFA) technologies. The team has recently completed the First-in-Human clinical trial which validated the company’s PFA technology for treatment of atrial fibrillation. The team is embarking on preparing the technology for regulatory approvals followed by commercial release in respective territories. We are expanding our innovative team with the addition of a Catheter Technician.  The primary function of this position is responsible for producing medical catheters through precision assembly and quality control processes. This role is critical in ensuring that catheters meet strict medical device standards for safety, performance, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will support product development and manufacturing efforts for cardiac catheter assembly. Working from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions, you will assemble cardiac catheters and utilize specialized tools such as microscopes, soldering irons, digital multimeters, calipers, and other precision instruments. You will also conduct functional tests, document results, and maintain high standards in the catheter lab. standards.

Your Responsibilities

•    Perform cardiac ablation catheter production operations in an ISO-certified cleanroom.
•    Performed medical device assembly using microscopes, small hand tools, soldering equipment, hot-box systems, and other specialized manufacturing tools.
•    Build and assemble ablation catheter subcomponents and critical parts, including:
•    Lead‑to‑connector terminal soldering
•    Adhesive application for component bonding.
•    Integrating the pull wire with the electrode band and shaft.
•    Operate common test equipment such as multimeters, Hipot testers, and LCR meters to verify electrical performance, insulation resistance, and energy‑delivery parameters.
•    Perform manufacturing operations for cardiac ablation catheters, including assembly, in-process testing, packaging, and labeling. Conduct quality inspections of subassemblies and finished devices to ensure compliance with product specifications, GMP requirements, and regulatory standards.
•    Document production activities in manufacturing lot history records.
•    Adhere to line clearance, workstation, cleaning, PPE, and safety standards while performing daily tasks and responsibilities.
•    Comply with cleanroom operation rules.
•    Perform routine/preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure efficiency and safety.
•    Assist with the Development of catheter operational processes and assists with methods and testing to meet design goals.
•    Responds positively to direction from leadership and guidance received on work assignments.
•    Consistently promote collaboration, positivity, accountability, and resourcefulness.
•    Works from schematics, engineering drawings, written and verbal instructions to assemble catheter prototypes.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Area of Knowledge

• Practical experience building cardiac ablation catheters.


• Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication techniques/processes.


• Practical experience with NiTi processing, catheter construction, electrode processing preferred.


• Familiarity with cardiac and vascular catheterization procedures, tools, and terminology desired


• Familiarity with catheter and material or process selection for catheter development desired.


• Ability to work cross functionally with other departments.


• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others while performing assigned duties including Company management and outside business associates.


• Detail oriented with analytical mind-set, capable of root-cause analysis and problem-solving

Your Profile

Education / Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. 


• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related technical experience.


• Working knowledge of catheter assembly techniques and required equipment.


• Intermediate skills on assembly, test, and troubleshooting catheter components is needed.


• Experienced and comfortable communicating and collaborating with staff at all levels.


• Implements creative solutions to accomplish results. Maintains a high degree of quality in all work performed.


• Must be accurate, detailed, committed to high quality standards and pro-active in finding solutions to achieve successful outcomes.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate, punctual reports/information, as required and thoroughly share information with others. Must be able to read, write and speak effectively.


• Knows catheter fabrication tools including microscope, measuring tools, soldering iron, digital multi-meter, and other small tools.

Physical and Travel Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.


• The employee is also required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time and communicate with co-workers.


• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours / week. Minimum to no work-from-home opportunity.


• Must be able to work second shift from 2:30pm to 11:00pm.  (10% Shift Differential Available)


• Must be able to work onsite at our Tustin, CA facility. No relocation support will be provided.


• Must be able to travel domestically, less than 5% of the time.

Work Location: The location for this position is onsite, and will work out of our Tustin, CA  office.

Salary Range: $24-$30/hour
