Catholic Cantor

Location: MacDill Air Force Base Chapel, Tampa, Florida

Type of Job: Part-time

Schedule:

• Provide music and/or musical accompaniment at Weekend Masses and 1 Rehearsal every week
• Support 7 Holy Day worship services, 2 Christmas Masses, 2 Tridium worship services, 3 Holy Week services, and 5 memorial/funeral units
• Weekly support for 52 Rehearsals

Duties:

• Perform music and/or provide musical accompaniment in accordance with the directives of the American National Conference of Catholic Bishops, particularly as outlined in the Directives on Music in the Liturgy.
• Collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain or designated personnel to organize and execute musical requirements for Catholic services.
• Work special rehearsals and services as directed by the Catholic Chaplain.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of experience as a Cantor within a military chapel environment.
• Possess an associate degree in music or equivalent musical education.
• High level of musical skill and ability to lead and/or accompany worship services by singing and playing guitar or piano simultaneously.
