POSITION SUMMARY
The Collections Supervisor works alongside the Collections Manager and is responsible for supervising a team of collectors who perform daily collection calls on delinquent accounts. The team is also responsible for answering customer service calls, sending invoice copies, overseeing charge offs, and monitoring accounts for fraud. The Collections Supervisor is responsible for the development of collections staff, as well as department policies and workflow.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provides departmental staff support including training and development
Assists in developing policies and procedures for more efficient collection processes
Analyzes queue and process management workflow to ensure production and performance goals are met
Works with clients to obtain their assistance on customer accounts and to help resolve disputes
Ensures excellent customer service is provided to customers and clients
Works closely with accounts over 75 days to ensure all efforts are exhausted before charging off and to determine potential bad debt
Prepares and maintains charge off and month end reports
Attends and participates in Credit Committee Meetings
Oversees buyouts, reviews collector comments, approves rekey and refund tasks
Performs the essential duties of a Collector when necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or related coursework in a business field preferred
At least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience required; current supervisory experience preferred
At least 2 years of customer service or collections experience required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong customer relations skills
Ability to function effectively as part of a team and interact tactfully and professionally with employees, management, and external clients or vendors
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and general office duties
