CDL A Regional Intermodal Driver - Pick Your Days Off

Most regional jobs hand you a schedule. This one lets you pick your 2 days off in a row and your start time, then keeps them the same every week. Regional intermodal work out of our Chicago terminal, a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a $1,654 weekly average.

What Makes This Different

• Your Days Off, Your Choice: any 2 consecutive days except Saturday and Sunday, every week
• Your Start Time: you pick it, and it stays consistent week to week
• Weekend Bonus: $150 every week, because weekends are part of the job
• $10,000 Sign-On Bonus: first payment after your first dispatch (eligibility terms apply)
• Newer Trucks: automatic Freightliner and International mid roof tractors, averaging 2.5 years old
• Mostly No Touch: about 75% drop and hook

The Pay

• Weekly Average: $1,654, about $86,000 a year
• Mileage: $0.64 per mile to start, paid on Rand McNally miles, about 2,200 miles per week
• Live Load or Unload: $65
• Drop and Hook: $35
• Detention: $20 to $25 per hour after the first hour
• Hazmat Loads: $25, Reefer Loads: $30
• Layover and Breakdowns: $20 per hour, up to 5 hours
• Training: $250 per day, 1 to 2 weeks with a hotel stay

The Work

• Intermodal containers across Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky
• 1,800 miles per week minimum, with strong drivers running up to 2,800
• 48 hours home every week on your chosen days
• Drivers living within 50 miles of the Chicago terminal park the truck at the terminal

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
