The money

• $850 a week during training
• $1,000 a week guaranteed for your first 3 months solo
• $1,100 to $1,300 a week once solo
• 1,700 to 2,000 miles a week
• $15 stop pay
• Weekly direct deposit

Your week

Regional freight out of Houston, different customers each week. Drop and hook and live loads. Home every two weeks, often through the house.

From CDL school to your own truck

1. A recruiter calls you and reviews your CDL and driving record with you.
2. Orientation, 2 days at most. Hotel paid, one-way bus ticket reimbursed, $300 for orientation once hired.
3. 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor: backing, trip planning, logs and fueling. You are paid $850 a week.
4. Your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average, automatic or 10-speed. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.

Straight answers for new drivers

• "How often will I see home?" Every two weeks, often through the house.
• "Do I pay for orientation?" No. Hotel covered, bus ticket reimbursed, and $300 once you are hired.
• "What if I have a problem on the road?" Loads are planned for you, and your driver leader picks up the phone.
• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
• "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo.

What you need

• Class A CDL from your state of residence, 21 or older
• New CDL grad with 120+ school hours, or 6 months of recent experience
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years
• DOT physical and hair and urine drug screen
