Kern County drivers: a dedicated night operation where you swap trailers at stores and never load or unload freight.

Just got your CDL-A? Good. This job is open to new drivers, and nobody expects you to know everything yet.

Your paycheck

• $680 to $850 weekly during training
• $1,200 average per week
• $0.53 to $0.64 per mile by experience
• About 2,000 miles weekly
• Home daily for most of the year
• $15 stop pay, $20 for loads under 100 miles
• Weekly direct deposit

Questions new drivers ask us

• "Will I be gone for months?" No. You are home daily for most of the year. In peak season you may stay out 2 to 3 nights a week.
• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
• "What if I get stuck or lost on the road?" Your loads are planned for you and your driver leader is one phone call away.
• "Will getting to orientation cost me money?" No. Your one-way bus ticket is reimbursed and the hotel is on us.

Your first six weeks, step by step

It starts with a phone call. Our recruiter checks your license and driving record with you up front, so you know where you stand.

Orientation takes 2 days at most. We cover the hotel and pay you back for a one-way bus ticket. Once you are hired, orientation pays $300.

Then 4 to 6 weeks on the road with a trainer. They sit beside you while you learn to back up, plan a trip, run your logs and fuel. You earn $680 to $850 a week the whole time.

Then the truck is yours. An assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average, automatic or 10-speed.

The route

You deliver to about 40 stores in the Central Valley, the LA basin and Las Vegas, 24/7 operation.

Nights, weekends and holidays are part of it. In peak season (Oct to Dec) you may stay out 2 to 3 nights a week. The team here picks up the phone when you need help.

Once you pass 30 days

Who can apply

• Valid Class A CDL, 21 or older
• New driver with a 120-hour school certificate, or 6 months of recent experience
• Record: no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10
• Pass DOT physical and drug screening (hair and urine)
