Brand-new license, zero miles? You can still start here. Training is paid and you are never thrown in alone.

What you earn

• Paid $900 per week in training
• A $1,000 weekly floor for your first 3 solo months
• $1,400 to $1,800 average per week
• 2,000 to 3,000 miles weekly
• Home as often as every other day, or once a week
• Base rate plus loaded mileage rate
• $15 per extra stop
• Paychecks every week

On the road

Preloaded freight going east and south, all returning to Sumner. The customer is right next to the terminal.

Weekends are required, and chains may be needed in winter.

From application to your own truck

After you apply, a recruiter calls to look over your license and record with you. Next comes orientation, 2 days at most, with the hotel paid, your one-way bus ticket reimbursed and $300 for attending once you are hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, trip planning, logs and fueling, and you are paid $900 a week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, from a fleet about 1.5 years old on average with 10-speeds and automatics. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.

What new drivers usually worry about

• "My school was short. Does it count?" If you have at least 120 hours from a CDL school, you qualify.
• "My backing is rough." That is normal. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you run solo.
• "Will my pay drop when training ends?" No. You have a $1,000 weekly guarantee for your first 3 months solo.
• "How often will I see home?" You can be home as often as every other day, or once a week.

Once you pass 30 days

To qualify

• Age 21+
• Class A CDL: new grads with at least 120 training hours are welcome, or 6 months of recent experience
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years, max 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• Able to pass a DOT medical exam and a hair and urine drug screen
