CDL-A OTR Driver

Class A drivers around Grove City and Columbus: steady OTR miles that stay east, home every two weeks, and a paid seat for new grads.

If you just finished CDL school and want a company that will train you, this is your seat. You run with an experienced mentor first, paid the whole time, then take the wheel on your own. Loads don't go too far west, so your miles stay predictable.

What you'll earn

• $1,200 to $1,400 a week, about $62,400 to $72,800 a year
• Mileage pay starts at $0.55 and climbs $0.01 every 12 months, up to $0.65
• About 2,500 miles a week
• $15 per stop after the first
• Paid weekly by direct deposit

Your typical week

OTR lanes across the eastern half of the country, a mix of drop-and-hook, live load and live unload. You are out about two weeks, then home for your reset. Day and night dispatch, planned loads, and a phone number that always answers.

Your truck

An assigned, late-model automatic or 10-speed, about a year and a half old on average. It's yours to take home, with 24/7 dispatch behind you.

What you need

• Valid Class A CDL in your state of residence, age 21 or older
• Recent CDL-school graduate (120+ hours) or verifiable driving experience
• Acceptable driving record; no more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years
• Able to pass a DOT physical and a hair and urine drug screen
