Role: Center Teacher 3 Month Fixed Term Contract

Reports To: Classroom Manager

Location: Ventura, CA, On-site
Age Group: Infants (0-2), Preschool (2-3.5), Pre-Kindergarten (3.5-5)
Pay Range: $26.50-$27.50 / hr
Time: Mon-Fri; 40 hrs a week. Est March 2nd – May 29th
Great Pacific Child Development Center was founded in 1982 by Malinda Chouinard and Jennifer Ridgeway to provide childcare to employees of Patagonia. Currently, Patagonia provides on-site childcare for employees in three locations: Ventura, CA Main Campus, Ventura, CA Brooks Campus, and in Reno, NV at the Distribution Center.

A Center Teacher is providing coverage for classroom teachers in the infant, preschool and in Ventura only, school age programs. The Center Teacher is responsible for all aspects of care for children ages 2 months to kindergarten, or in Ventura children up to 9 years old. When in ratio, the Center Teacher steps in as a fully functioning member of the teaching team. Daily responsibilities of this role include: transportation of school age children in Ventura, stocking center supplies/groceries, physical caregiving, implementation of age appropriate, individualized curriculum, facilitating supportive relationships with children, parents and colleagues; and assisting in classroom parent communications such as newsletters and Educa updates.

Classroom Management and Practices

Communication Skills
The staff at the Child Development Centers are responsible for building meaningful relationships with children, families, and their coworkers. We believe transparency, professionalism, and empathy are critical in sustaining these bonds.
