About the Position Department: Logistics Reports to: SeniorCentral Trucking Coordinator Supervises: None
Purpose Plans, organizes, and leads transportation initiatives for the entire organization.Manages the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters in the most efficient, timely, and cost effective manner.Works closely with internal and external resources to fulfill Gooseneck’s commitments to customers and meeting customers’ expectations.
Responsibilities
Provides leadership across the organization for all Logistics needs and requests
Responsible for ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements
Ensures truck drivers and parts runners are aware of their duties
Allocates and records resources and movements in the Trucking Scheduler
Communicates with Sales Reps, Service Managers, General Managers, and other store personnel on customer deliveries and requirements
Ensures vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements
Communicates weather and road delays to appropriate employees
Schedules and dispatches drivers, trucks, and equipment to meet delivery requirements. Scheduling of oil deliveries to customers.
Monitors shipment progress and provide real-time updates to customers and management.
Communicates with drivers regarding routes, pickup and delivery instructions, and schedule changes.
Tracks freight movement using transportation management systems (TMS) and GPS tools.
Resolves delivery delays, route issues, and customer concerns promptly.
Maintains accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and shipment documentation.
Coordinates load assignments to maximize fleet utilization and reduce downtime.
Ensures compliance with DOT regulations, safety requirements, and company procedures.
Verifies freight documentation, bills of lading, and delivery confirmations.
Collaborates with customers, brokers, warehouse personnel, and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
IFTA reporting/permits
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
5+ years experience in an agriculture-related role, specifically in trucking or delivery
Ability to think strategically
Knowledge of database software and computer application systems
Demonstrates leadership, organizational, management, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively to customers, vendors, and dealership employees
Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store locations
Knowledge of safety and transportation laws and requirements
Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
