Home Care Aide \n\nKettering, Centerville and Miamisburg \n\n \n\nGeneral Summary/Responsibilities:\n\nThe Home Care Aide is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned.\n\n \n\nDIMENSIONS:\n\nAssigned to cases by Scheduling or Supervisor.\n\n \n\n \n\nQualifications \nEducation\n\nMinimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED \n \nAdditional requirements: \n\uf0a7 Type of degree: N/A \n\uf0a7 Area of study or major: N/A \n\uf0a7 Preferred educational qualifications: Home Care Aide Certificate \n\uf0a7 Position specific testing requirement: N/A \n\uf0a7 Required: \n\uf0a7 Must have completed the ninth grade and be able to read, write and follow written instructions and document care given. \n\uf0a7 Passport personal staff must have obtained a high school diploma or completed GED equivalent \n\uf0a7 ESP or Elderly Services Program staff must have obtained a high school diploma or completed GED equivalent.\n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration\n\n\uf0a7 CNA or STNA \n\uf0a7 CPR Certification\n\nExperience\n\nMinimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience \nPrior job title or occupational experience: Must have completed a basic aide training program and possess a Certificate of Course Completion or have one year hospital or skilled nursing home experience. The basic aide training program must meet OBRA 87 requirements. Medicare, Medicaid, and Waiver aides must complete a two part competency evaluation. (Part 1 written, Part 2 demonstration of skills.) The score on the written portion must be at least 70% or greater. Private pay and Passport aides \n\nPrior specific functional responsibilities: N/A \nPreferred experience: N/A \nOther experience requirements: N/A\n\nKnowledge/Skills \n\uf0a7 Must also complete the written portion of the competency evaluation with a score of 70% or greater. \n\uf0a7 Agency must complete competencies. \n\uf0a7 Must display good physical and emotional health and be capable of stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. Should demonstrate good personal hygiene. \n\uf0a7 Must be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision and have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient\u0027s family and all other office personnel. \n\uf0a7 Must have a sincere interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled at home. \n\uf0a7 Must meet all agency personnel policies and have reliable transportation.\n\n \n
