Certified Medical Assistant

Premier Valley Medical Group is seeking an experienced and bi-lingual Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The CMA will support physicians and clinical staff by performing both administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient patient care and office operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent patient service in a fast-paced clinic setting. 

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) under direct supervision will perform routine patient care, technical and supportive functions in a clinic setting. The Medical Assistant will function within the scope of practice as described by the State of California Board. 

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. 
• Perform routine patient care duties under the direction of licensed healthcare providers in accordance with established clinical protocols, policies, procedures, and scope of practice. 
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient information. 
• Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, tissue specimen collection, and biopsies. 
• Administer injections, medications, and immunizations permitted under California law and provider supervision. 
• Perform specimen collection, basic laboratory procedures, and point-of-care testing. 
• Prepare and submit laboratory, radiology, and specialized testing forms. 
• Monitor patients for changes in condition, including signs of bleeding or distress, and respond appropriately. 
• Initiate emergency procedures, including basic CPR, and assist during medical emergencies and Code Blue responses. 
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR). 
• Process prescription refill requests and prior authorizations. 
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care within scope of practice. 
• Respond to patient inquiries within the Medical Assistant scope of practice. 
• Schedule patient appointments and support efficient patient flow. 
• Request and manage medical records. 
• Answer telephones, take messages, prepare outgoing mail, send faxes, and maintain department logs. 
• Clean and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms following infection control standards. 
• Maintain inventory and order medical and office supplies as needed. 
• Participate in department meetings and demonstrate workplace safety procedures. 
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable California healthcare regulations. 
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications 

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) 
• High school diploma or GED required  
• Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited organization  
• Minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience preferred  
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures  
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills  
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment  

Required Certifications 

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)  

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, 10 pounds or less consistently 
• Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and use medical equipment

• Medical office/ Clinic  
• Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm
