Job Description - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant | Rehab |Full Time | Inpatient & Outpatient | Sign On Bonus

Responsibilities/Duties:



  • Responsible for providing treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effects and discuss observations with the OT.

  • Ability to perform components of an appropriate assessment on all residents as related to the therapy requested and provided, and reassessments as per policy.

  • Able to asses patient/resident pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation – makes appropriate physician, contact for intervention.

  • Assists with formulation of a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and assesses effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.

  • Coordinates and assists with directing patient care to ensure patients/residents' needs are met and hospital/nursing home policy is followed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:


Required:



  • AA Degree from a school or college approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association

  • Current state of Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Assistant license

  • Current certification by the NBCOT

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA policy

  • Exhibit ability to deal with difficult situations, demonstrating good judgment and tactfulness, while remaining professional and courteous

  • Maintains regulatory requirements

  • Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized time system correctly

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Critical thinking and problem solving


 


Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:


Constantly:



  • Moving oneself in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
