About the Role
Impact Life is seeking a compassionate and recovery-oriented Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Georgetown Recovery Capital program.
The Certified Peer Support Specialist provides individualized peer recovery support using a Recovery Capital-based approach. This position helps participants strengthen recovery stability, remain engaged in outpatient treatment, and build the personal, family/social, community, and cultural resources that support long-term recovery.
The position provides recovery coaching, participant engagement, recovery monitoring, resource navigation, recovery-focused activities, and ongoing support for participants experiencing barriers or setbacks that could affect their engagement in treatment and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualized peer recovery coaching and strengths-based support based on participants' identified recovery goals.
Build supportive relationships that promote hope, self-determination, personal choice, and engagement.
Maintain regular participant contact and provide ongoing encouragement, recovery monitoring, and follow-up.
Support participants during transitions, setbacks, and periods of increased vulnerability.
Help implement individualized Recovery Capital Plans in collaboration with participants and the Recovery Capital Coordinator.
Help participants identify and strengthen personal, family/social, community, and cultural Recovery Capital.
Connect participants with healthcare, behavioral health services, SUD treatment, housing, employment, transportation, benefits, education, and other resources.
Connect participants with recovery communities, peer supports, wellness resources, volunteer opportunities, and meaningful community activities.
Provide warm handoffs and follow through on referrals.
Facilitate or support recovery-focused groups and participant engagement activities.
Collaborate with the Recovery Capital Coordinator, outpatient providers, peer staff, and community partners.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation of participant contacts, services, referrals, follow-up, progress, and outcomes.
Support collection of Recovery Capital outcomes and other required program data.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Current Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of peer-support principles, recovery-oriented systems of care, professional boundaries, and person-centered practice.
Strong communication, relationship-building, documentation, organization, and follow-through skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with participants, treatment providers, peer staff, and community partners.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive participant information.
Ability to travel to community and partner locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing peer recovery support, recovery coaching, community-based services, outreach, resource navigation, or related human services.
Knowledge of Recovery Capital.
Experience supporting individuals with opioid use disorder, stimulant use disorder, co-occurring behavioral health conditions, or complex social needs.
Familiarity with healthcare, behavioral health, recovery, housing, employment, transportation, and community resources in Sussex County.
