Summary of Performance Expectations:
The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a perioperative registered nurse who works in collaboration with the surgical team to provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. The RNFA plays a critical role in assisting the surgeon by performing specific tasks that enhance the efficiency and safety of the operation.
Accountable for the coordination and provision of professional nursing care appropriate to the age of the patient using the nursing process. Collaborates with other health care professionals and agencies to meet the needs of our customers. Provides input into the performance appraisal process for each assigned team member on an on-going basis. Accountable for input into departmental and patient financial outcomes.
Education & Credentials:
Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR)
Preferred
BSN, specialty certification in area of practice.
Certification as a Registered Nurse First Assist (CRNFA)
Work Experience:
Two years operating room experience. Departmental competencies.
