Job Description - Chaplain Resident

POSITION SUMMARY:   

Provide spiritual care and counsel to patients, families, and hospital personnel, as appropriate; assist in organizing, coordinating, and monitoring Park Nicollet Health Services and Methodist Hospital spiritual care services; engage in personal and group learning process and comply with terms of the ACPE learning contract.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • Ministry Experience and Theological Education (Resident: Minimum 1-unit ACPE accredited CPE, unless waived by ACPE Certified Educator; Intern: 1 year into Theological program)

    • Completion of the standard ACPE application materials

    • At least three recommendations from academic and denominational authorities 

  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

    • Denominational/Ecclesiastical endorsement or equivalent

    • This position provides psychotherapy to patients and requires Park Nicollet to comply with the Minnesota Statute MS603 (formerly 148A).

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. 

    • Familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws) 

    • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.
