Charge Entry Specialist

HCT has an immediate need for an Interim Charge Entry Specialist in AZ.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, and medical charging processes to ensure charges are accurately supported and documented within the appropriate electronic systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Review and enter medical charges accurately into the Sunrise Financial Manager or other designated electronic systems.
• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, anatomy and physiology, surgical procedures, pharmacology, and major disease processes to support accurate charge entry.
• Identify clinical findings that support existing charges and recognize when additional charges may be warranted.
• Ensure charge documentation is complete, accurate, and consistent with applicable procedures and organizational standards.
• Utilize electronic health record and financial management systems to support charge entry activities.
• Maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments to support accurate charging and efficient workflows.
• Maintain reliable attendance, meet performance expectations, and contribute to a positive team environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Charge Entry Specialist I: Minimum of three (3) months of experience in medical coding or medical charging. Charge Entry Specialist II: Minimum of two (2) years of medical charging experience.
• Charge Entry Specialist II: Certificate in medical coding required.
