Position Summary

The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care and supervising nursing assistants to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. This role promotes a positive living environment while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and facility regulations.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position


• Three 12-hour shifts plus one 6-hour shift each week (Wednesday)


• Every other weekend rotation required


• Starting pay: $29.00-$34.00 per hour


• Evening, night, and weekend shift differentials available

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans


• Supervise, support, and mentor nursing assistants during assigned shifts


• Coordinate resident admissions, transfers, and discharges


• Review, update, and implement care plans and discharge plans


• Ensure accurate and timely documentation, charting, and incident reporting


• Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare providers


• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and federal guidelines


• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal resident outcomes


• Foster a respectful, compassionate, and resident-centered environment

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license


• Long-term care experience preferred, but not required


• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills


• Ability to effectively supervise and support nursing assistants


• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations preferred
