POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary focus of the role will be to provide material movement and support to internal and external customers and support chemical manufacturing operations at DuBois Chemicals, Bedford Park, IL facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a sit down forklift and drum pickers

• Performs inventory control: cycle counts, material stocking, and scrapping, at a minimum.

• Assists in managing material allocation, measuring/weighing, and maintains material storage and condition requirements.

• Maintains organization of materials in production/storage areas according to procedure.

• Maintains timing according to the production schedule to ensure on-time delivery.

• Records material handling data and information in a clear, concise, format according to proper procedure.

• Works in a team based, cross-functional environment to complete tasks required by schedule.

• Must be able to work in an environment with chemical components.

• Learn warehouse management system to provide support to shipping and receiving when required.

• Performs daily housekeeping responsibilities in your designated areas and supports housekeeping in the plant as requested.

• Performs other tasks as assigned.

• Available to work OT when business requires.

• Operate in a warehouse environment.

• Follows all safety compliance requirements.

• Don Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by procedures & signage.

• May come in contact with hazardous material requiring additional PPE.

• May be required to work overtime, including occasional weekends for inventory.

• Perform activities as physical job, where employee may have to lift as much as 50 pounds and regularly bend reach & walk
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 4 – 5 years similar experience as a material handler

• Proficient forklift (sit-down) operator with 5 years of experience

• Proficient using drum pickers/grabbers

• Basic mathematical skills

• General understanding of chemicals and OSHA hazardous communication standards

• Inventory control and management

• Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with colleagues

• Strong communication skills and time management

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
