Chess Club Instructor - Lower School

Qualifications 

• Knowledge of the game of chess and ability to instruct beginners


• 
  

  High School or equivalent

  
  


• 
  

  Current CPR certification and First Aid training 

  
  

Responsibilities 

• 
  

  Instruct grades 1-4 chess club, with availability for after school time frame 3:30pm-5pm once per week from November - February.

  
  

• 
  

  Supports and upholds the mission and values of the International School of Texas 

  
  

• 
  

  Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters 

  
  

• 
  

  Continually monitors and supervises all activities of the participants

  
  

• 
  

  Follows school policies regarding safety guidelines 

  
  

• 
  

  Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits 

  
  

• 
  

  Able to instruct students about proper strategy, skills, and rules 

  
  

• 
  

  Uses approved, corrective, and positive discipline procedures in dealing with inappropriate student conduct

  Required to maintain composure
