About Alia by Dotdigital: Alia is a popup and engagement platform built for Shopify and e-commerce brands helping, merchants grow their email and SMS lists and drive more revenue from their existing traffic. We were bootstrapped to $10M+ ARR and 4,000+ merchant customers before being acquired by Dotdigital, a global marketing automation leader. We’re now scaling as part of a bigger platform, with the speed and hustle of a startup team.

About the Role

As Chief of Staff, you'll be the person who keeps the day-to-day operations of the company organized and running.

You'll touch a wide range of work, from company accounting and finance support to people operations in Rippling, to stocking the office and planning team outings. This role is equal parts detail-oriented execution and bringing good energy to the office every day.

You'll work closely with leadership and have real visibility into how the company operates, with the opportunity to grow your scope as you prove yourself in the role.

What You'll Do

• Support day-to-day company accounting and finance tasks, including tracking expenses, invoices, and basic bookkeeping.

• Manage people operations tasks in Rippling, including onboarding, offboarding, and keeping employee records accurate and up to date.

• Handle general administrative and backend work that keeps the company running smoothly.

• Manage the in-person office, including keeping it stocked with supplies, coordinating repairs or vendor needs, and making sure it's a clean and welcoming space.

• Plan and organize team outings and in-office events.

• Act as a go-to point of contact for the team on office logistics and day-to-day questions.

• Bring a positive, talkative, and approachable energy to the office every day.

• Take on ad hoc projects across finance, people, and operations as the company grows.

What We're Looking For

• 0 to 2 years of experience in administration, operations, or a related field is helpful, but not required.

• Highly detail-oriented. You catch the small things others miss and take pride in doing things right.

• Comfortable wearing many hats and switching between finance, people, and office tasks throughout the day.

• Strong communicator with a naturally warm, outgoing personality. You genuinely enjoy being around people.

• Proactive. You notice what needs to get done and do it without waiting to be asked.

• Based in New York City and able to be in the office in person.
