Children's Dream Team Leader, Mount Pleasant Campus

Hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Reports To: Director of Kidscoast, Mount Pleasant

The Mission: Seacoast Church exists to help people Find God, Grow Their Faith, Discover Their Purpose, and Make a Difference. The Kidscoast Dream Team Leader helps create a culture where volunteers are recruited, equipped, onboarded, cared for, and empowered to use their God-given gifts to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and families. Through intentional leadership, relationship-building, and volunteer development, this role helps ensure that every child experiences the love of Jesus through a healthy and thriving Kidscoast Dream Team.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding

• Help identify, recruit, and develop future volunteer leaders within Kidscoast


• Promote a culture of discipleship, accountability, encouragement, and excellence


• Follow up promptly with potential volunteers generated through Connect Cards, Next Steps, and other ministry opportunities


• Represent Kidscoast at Next Steps and volunteer engagement events, helping people discover opportunities to serve and make a difference


• Meet with prospective Dream Team members to learn their interests, spiritual gifts, experience, and desired level of involvement


• Cast vision for Kidscoast and communicate clear expectations for serving


• Lead the complete onboarding process for new Kidscoast Dream Team members, ensuring every volunteer feels welcomed, equipped, and connected before serving


• Conduct regular Kidscoast Dream Team Orientation and onboarding meetings, helping new volunteers understand the mission, vision, values, safety standards, and expectations of Kidscoast


• Guide prospective volunteers through the onboarding process, including:

• Leadership application


• Reference checks


• Interviews


• Background check screening


• Required training


• Shadowing experiences

• Ensure all onboarding requirements are completed prior to placement


• Schedule and place new volunteers in Planning Center based on gifting, availability, and ministry need


• Partner with Kidscoast Ministry Leaders, Coaches, Service Coordinators, and Room Leaders to provide a smooth transition from onboarding into active serving roles


• Serve as the primary liaison between new volunteers and Kidscoast Ministry Leaders throughout the onboarding process


• Ensure all volunteer information and progress is accurately documented in Ministry Platform


• Create a positive first impression and onboarding experience that helps volunteers feel known, valued, and confident in their role


• Support volunteer retention efforts by helping volunteers feel connected to the mission, ministry, and community of Kidscoast

Weekend Ministry Leadership

• Welcome and connect with new Dream Team members on their first serving experience


• Introduce and hand off new volunteers to their Coach, Service Coordinator, or Room Leader for ongoing support


• Ensure Kidscoast representation at Next Steps and any other volunteer engagement opportunities


• Be available to provide leadership support, troubleshoot challenges, and step into ministry areas as needed


• Support the execution of Kidscoast weekend experiences with excellence, hospitality, and consistency

Event Leadership & Volunteer Management

• Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, placement, scheduling, training, and communication for major Kidscoast events


• Partner with event leaders to identify volunteer needs and ensure event teams are fully staffed and prepared


• Lead volunteer management efforts for events including:

• Kids Camp


• Night to Shine


• UpGrade Weekend


• Family Events


• Volunteer Appreciation Initiatives


• Other special ministry events




• Develop and execute volunteer communication plans before, during, and after events


• Coordinate volunteer training and preparation for large-scale events


• Support volunteer appreciation and recognition efforts for event teams


• Conduct event debriefs and gather feedback to improve volunteer systems and processes for future events

Communication & Systems

• Maintain clear, timely, and professional communication with volunteers regarding schedules, training opportunities, events, and ministry updates


• Utilize Ministry Platform, Planning Center, and other church systems effectively


• Track volunteer engagement, onboarding progress, retention, and leadership development opportunities


• Collaborate with Kidscoast staff to continually improve volunteer systems and processes


• Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and follow-up related to volunteer engagement


• Help create and maintain resources that support volunteer consistency and excellence across Kidscoast environments

Team Participation & Church Engagement

• Serve as an active member of the Kidscoast staff team


• Help represent Kidscoast at church-wide ministries, events, and gatherings as requested, promoting serving opportunities and helping people connect to the mission of Kidscoast


• Partner with other ministry teams to recruit and engage volunteers across the church


• Participate in planning and executing major Kidscoast initiatives and special events.
