Civil Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
• PE license in NJ or NY preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and design tools such as INROADS and Civil 3D
• Familiarity with OPENROADS is a plus
• Ability to collaborate with junior engineers and independently execute roadway design tasks
• Working knowledge of key roadway design manuals, including:
• AASHTO Green Book
• NJDOT Roadway Design Manual
• FHWA MUTCD
• Prior experience with AASHTO and NJDOT specifications and plans, plus exposure to standards from agencies such as NJTA, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, or PENNDOT
• Ability to implement QA/QC processes, including review of field data, design reports, project evaluations, prioritization, optimization of work programs, and compliance with NJDOT and County requirements

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in the design of:
• Roadways
• Intersections and interchanges
• ADA curb ramps
• Parking facilities
• Pedestrian infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Civil roadway design for transportation and infrastructure projects
• Preparation of contract plans and documents, including bidding packages
• Coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and project compliance

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Princeton, NJ.
