Job Description - Civil Litigation Attorney

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Location: This position is based in South Bend, Indiana. Attorneys should expect to be in the office the majority of the time initially, with hybrid flexibility available after training.

Note: Candidates should have a J.D., be licensed to practice law in Indiana or able to become licensed promptly, and have relevant civil litigation experience.

Job Description

  • Handle a variety of civil litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, settlement documents, and client correspondence
  • Conduct legal research and develop practical case strategy
  • Manage discovery, depositions, hearings, mediations, negotiations, and court appearances
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal team members
  • Work on business disputes, contract litigation, employment matters, real estate disputes, construction issues, and related litigation
  • Collaborate with partners and staff while independently managing assigned matters

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Indiana law license preferred, or ability to become licensed promptly
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
  • Strong writing, research, advocacy, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage files independently and professionally
  • Deposition, hearing, mediation, or trial preparation experience preferred
  • Portable business is welcome, but not required

    • Portable business or highly specialized experience may justify above range discussion
