Civil Superintendent (Site Development)

L.F. Driscoll is looking to hire an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead site development and civil construction activities for their Data Center projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to site preparation, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, stormwater infrastructure, and site logistics from project startup through turnover for vertical construction.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

• Prepares the project schedule, maintains reports accurately describing project status 
• Responsible for the timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects 
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis. Large projects include multiple Superintendents. 
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment. 
• Directs sub-contractor activities within site development and civil construction activities 
• Analyzes manpower, material, equipment requirements, and interfaces the requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent. 
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management 
• Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities 
• Manage QA/QC and understanding of client engineering specifications or requirements. 
• Lead all site development activities including clearing, grubbing, excavation, mass grading, and earthwork operations.
• Coordinate installation of underground utilities including storm, sanitary, water, telecommunications, and electrical duct bank systems.
• Oversee erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with environmental requirements.
• Manage site logistics, haul roads, laydown areas, temporary facilities, and construction access.
• Coordinate utility providers, inspectors, municipalities, and civil design teams.
• Monitor production rates and quantities for excavation, backfill, utility installation, and site infrastructure work.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with grading plans, utility drawings, and civil engineering specifications.
• Lead civil subcontractors and maintain compliance with project schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate turnover of civil infrastructure to vertical construction teams.

 
Qualifications: 

• 8+ years of field experience. 
• 5+ years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role overseeing site development, civil, or infrastructure construction.
• Experience with earthwork, mass grading, underground utilities, and site infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and utility plans.
• Well-developed, communications, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills are required. 
• Preferred Data center, industrial, manufacturing, energy, utility, or large campus development experience.
