What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated Civil/Structural CADD Technician to support our growing Rail & Transit group. This position will work out of any of our mid-west offices including Cleveland, Omaha, Des Moines or Chicago on a hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will work with the rail group design engineers to produce plans for structure and track disciplines in railway engineering projects. You will leverage your knowledge and skills to prepare preliminary and final drawings, layouts, maps, charts, and designs within MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk CADD platforms that meet our company, project and client CAD standards.

 

What You'll Do:

• Independently produce engineering drawings for preliminary and final plan sets in accordance with established design standards, client standards and project requirements.


• Modify and update existing drawings as new information becomes available.


• Apply standard drafting/design principles and theories to complete assignments.


• Use technical manuals to ensure compliance with company policies, client policies and applicable standards for each project.


• Verify the accuracy, compatibility, and coordination of plans and details.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design elements, resolve conflicts & ensure accurate designs plans.


• Review and analyze drawings for errors, inconsistencies, and compliance with project requirements.


• Stay Updated with Technology: Keep up-to-date with the latest CAD technology trends and advancements.

What You Need to Succeed:

• High School, GED, certification course or two-year technical degree.


• 2+ years of CADD design. Experience within Transportation Engineering, inclusive of structural detailing.


• Proficiency with AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation software required, Civil 3D a plus.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.


• CADD experience on transportation and bridge projects a plus.


• Use Microsoft Teams collaboration software


• Effective verbal and written communication skills


• Experience with Bluebeam


• Ability to work independently in a hybrid office/remote work environment 

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $56,893 to $65,000 a year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
