Claims Engineer

Essential job functions:

• Analyze contractual variations and conditions regarding factors affecting cost and/or time.


• Conduct periodic reviews of projects for claims with project managers.


• Review claim correspondence, incoming and outgoing, and assist in response preparation.


• Review changes to plans and change orders for potential claims.


• Review CPM to ensure alignment with claims.


• Compile all pertinent information regarding claims.


• Coordinates claim documentation review such that all submission deadlines and milestones are met in a timely manner.


• Prepares complete claim submittal for filing.


• Monitors the progress of claims and provides status updates to management.


• Stays on point with all claims until final resolution.

Skills/Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of experience with heavy highway and road construction, or similar, projects with public agencies


• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or another related field


• Strong analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to high standards


• Strong work ethic and team player


• Proficient with all MS Office software, experience with HeavyJob and HeavyBid a plus
