The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY is hiring a CDL A Truck Driver-Local Routes- Home Daily, $30 an hour with great benefits!

Schedule:

Full-Time 40 hours a week

Monday-Friday 5AM-1:30pm

Home Every Night

Consistent Routes

Local Routes

Rare weekend work

Locations

Ulster, Orange, Dutchess, Rockland, Putnam and Sullivan Counties.

Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid New York State CDL Class A driver's license with at least two years of truck driving experience. Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing or meet an applicable exception under Federal Motor Carrier Safety requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain power equipment certification. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.

Physical Requirements: This position may be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. The position requires extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, pulling, and reaching, with routine opportunities to alter physical position or eye focus. Requires the safe operation of power equipment. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.

Position Summary: The Flex Driver (CDL Class A Required) is responsible for safely transporting food donations, products, and other materials while supporting food collection, storage, and distribution operations of the Food Bank. This position operates Class A and Class B vehicles as operational needs require and assists with warehouse and product-handling activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Transportation & Delivery:

• Pick up and deliver food donations, products, and other materials as needed.


• Operate all company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable traffic laws and regulations.


• Maintain a valid CDL and Department of Transportation Medical Card.


• Complete trip reports and ELD documentation accurately and daily.


• Work occasional Saturdays as required.

Vehicle & Equipment Safety:

• Inspect all power equipment prior to use.


• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any issues.


• Maintain truck condition, including refueling, adding fluids, and cleaning vehicles daily.


• Follow all Food Bank safety standards, procedures, and applicable Department of Transportation requirements.

Warehouse & Product Handling:

• Assist with the proper handling and storage of product.


• Load and unload cargo and verify load accuracy.


• Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records for donated product.


• Safely operate power equipment as required and in accordance with established procedures.

Customer Service & Representation:

• Represent the Food Bank positively and professionally when interacting with agencies, donors, vendors, and other external contacts.


• Provide courteous and professional service while supporting the Food Bank's mission and operations.

Other Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.


• Adhere to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.


• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and documentation.


• Perform other duties as assigned.
