Job Description - Class Action Litigation Of Counsel

This position is for a Class Action Litigation Of Counsel attorney for the firm’s Sacramento, CA office. 

 

The salary range for this position applies to our California offices and reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is $272,500-$300,000. This is not inclusive of our full range, and actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Defense of agency charges of discrimination, lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims, including wage and hour class/collective actions, and advice and counseling involving similar issues
  • Advise and train employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination laws
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in a broad range of employment matters, including discrimination, contract, employment tort, wage and hour, and non-compete cases

 

Skills and Educational Requirements: 

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials 
  • 9+ years of experience in Class Action litigation defense work
  • Current admission to the CA State Bar and in good standing 
  • Experience acting as Lead Counsel
  • In-depth understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures and enforcement techniques
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills 
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork
