Class B or Class A Route Driver

Job Description:

STERN Co. is looking for a local Route Driver to participate in our lubricants distribution operations and activities. Duties and responsibilities include product delivery to customers and loading/unloading trucks. This position offers a consistent work schedule Monday through Friday and the ability to be home every night.

Responsibilities:

• Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from customers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations

Skills:

• Class A or B CDL
• Must be able to drive manual transmission
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
• Valid truck driving license
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs

• Home daily

Experience:

• Class A or B driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Class A CDL (Preferred)
• Class B CDL (Required)
• STERN is willing to help the right candidate receive their CDL
