DescriptionThe role provides part-time, project-based support to the College of Nursing to evaluate operational processes, human capital utilization, and financial implications of staffing and service delivery models.
This role is responsible for analyzing current workflows, assessing alternative approaches (including staffing, technology, and outsourcing), and delivering data-informed recommendations that improve efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across academic and administrative units.
Work Arrangement
- Part-time (hours flexible based on project needs)
- This is an in-person position based on the Tampa campus, requiring regular on-site presence to engage with stakeholders, observe workflows, and assess operational processes firsthand
- Project-based assignments tied to operational priorities
ResponsibilitiesProcess Assessment & Improvement
- Conduct structured reviews of existing administrative and academic support processes across units
- Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and capacity constraints
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps
- Recommend process improvements aligned with college priorities and resource constraints
Human Capital & Workforce Analysis (in consultation with college’s HR Business Partner)
- Evaluate current staffing models, workload distribution, and role utilization
- Assess alternatives to full-time hires (e.g., OPS, part-time, shared services, seasonal staffing)
- Analyze alignment between responsibilities, skillsets, and organizational needs
- Provide recommendations to optimize workforce structure and deployment
Financial Analysis & Scenario Modeling
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for staffing and operational decisions
- Develop financial models comparing alternative solutions (e.g., FTE vs. part-time vs. vendor solutions)
- Evaluate short-term and long-term cost implications, including fringe, onboarding, and productivity impacts
- Support budget planning discussions with data-driven insights
Research & Solution Identification
- Research available technical and non-technical solutions, including:
- Process automation tools
- Workflow management systems
- Outsourcing/vendor options
- Best practices in higher education and healthcare environments
- Benchmark peer institutions and industry standards where appropriate
Recommendations & Implementation Support
- Prepare clear, executive-level summaries and recommendations
- Present findings to leadership and stakeholders
- Support implementation planning, including timelines, resource needs, and risk considerations
- Track outcomes and evaluate effectiveness of implemented changes
Deliverables (Examples)

- Executive summary reports for leadership decision-making
QualificationsThis position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with six years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
