Are you highly organized, service-oriented, and passionate about supporting patients and healthcare teams? As a Clerical Associate (CA) on the Neuro Surgical Unit at Deaconess Gateway's Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the unit while helping caregivers focus on what matters most—providing outstanding patient care.

As the central point of communication and coordination for the unit, you'll work closely with nurses, physicians, patients, families, and support departments to create a positive experience for everyone who enters the unit.

What You'll Do

In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you'll help coordinate daily unit operations and support the delivery of high-quality patient care by:

• Serving as a key communication resource for nurses, physicians, ancillary departments, patients, and families


• Coordinating daily unit activities to support efficient patient care and workflow


• Managing and utilizing communication systems and technology to facilitate smooth operations


• Assisting with patient information, scheduling, documentation, and administrative tasks


• Providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers


• Communicating important information accurately, professionally, and compassionately


• Supporting regulatory and documentation requirements while maintaining patient confidentiality

The Neuro Surgical Unit is a specialized 32-bed inpatient department with a 5-bed short-stay pod located within the Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital at Deaconess Gateway. The team provides care for patients undergoing advanced neurosurgical procedures as well as those experiencing neurological conditions and pain-related diagnoses.

Qualifications

Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification within six months of hire


• Successful completion of Epic training/classes as required by the care center or unit

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
