Clinical Adjunct Faculty - Surgical Technology

Herzing University has an opportunity for you to share your experience and engage our student population as Adjunct (part-time) Faculty within the Surgical Technology Program. This role will initially be 20 hours per week finding clinical sites where surgical technology students will eventually be onsite. Having the ability to network within the are and leverage local connections is key.

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in a related discipline, Bachelor's preferred


• Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency. Posses a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCAA). 


• Have at least 3 years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology (or a combination of both) within the past 5 years. 


• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills necessary to maintain positive, professional interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners. 

Preferred:

• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas effectively to individuals and groups. 


• Demonstrates knowledge of programmatic accreditation and regulatory standards established by CAAHEP for Surgical Technology programs.


• Experience teaching hands on skills to new surgical technologists or students.
