Clinical Director

SUMMARY: 

Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer, The Clinical Director provides leadership, training, and supervision to the organization’s substance abuse programs with experience in operating within a regulated framework.  SFRC programs provide a unique continuum of client care from Detox to Sober Living.  The Clinical Director provides oversight and guidance to promote programmatic and strategic alignment with the organization’s vision and goals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALITIES: 

Leadership abilities to guide, support, and build a team. 

1. Member of the Leadership Team responsible for the ongoing agency operations and evaluating and developing procedures, reports, and plans. 
2. Responsible for oversight, management, and support of program teams through clinical supervisors/managers. 
3. Responsible for maintaining program profitability, quality, and effectiveness and reports on status. 
4. Responsible for recommending future program expansion and implementation of agreed plans. 
5. Recommends program changes and oversees implementation. 
6. Responsible for maintaining clinical operations and client care in compliance with CARF standards and BHSD/Medicaid regulations including required staff supervision and training. 
7. Responsible for ensuring program compliance with HIPAA 42CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards and clients’ rights are respected. 
8. Remains current with evidence-based treatment for Substance Use Disorder Treatment and co-occurring disorders. 
9. Ensures program compliance and fidelity with new and existing evidence-based modalities and treatment approaches used by SFRC. 
10. Provides consultation to clients and staff as required to resolve problems and grievances. Ensures protocol is followed. 
11. Provides consultation for critical incidents within the milieu. Ensures protocol is followed. 
12. Responsible for maintaining program documentation including, policies, standard operating procedures, guidelines, client rules, and regulations. 
13. Provides and ensures scheduling of after-hours on-call clinical services for SFRC residential programs. 
14. Provides clinical services to clients as required. 
15. Provides coordination and full participation in all aspects of program reviews, surveys, audits, site visits, and evaluations. 
16. Represents the agency as required. 

MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

1. A Master’s Degree or Doctorate from an accredited college or university in Substance Use Disorder Counseling; Guidance and Counseling; Psychology; or related health field, plus any combination or graduate studies in the above areas and experience in Mental Health and SUD Counseling adding up to five (5) years, of which three (3) years must have been in actual Substance Abuse Treatment, and two (2) years supervisory experience preferred. 
2. Must have and maintain Independent Licensures such as LPCC, LISW, LMFT, PhD., and PsyD. Additionally, a Licensed Alcohol/Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) is preferred. 
3. Must be computer literate in order to effectively meet requirements for use of Electronic Health Record systems and other electronic platforms. 
4. Must have and maintain a current, valid NM Driver’s License.  Must have and maintain a clean driving record, as well as auto insurance. 
5. Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish).
