Clinical Lab Associate (12 month contract)

Location: Richmond, CA area
Job Type: Full-time, 1-year contract with potential for permanent hire
Compensation: $25.00–$35.00/hr, depending on experience

Lighthouse Lab Services is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Associate to join a dynamic laboratory team in the Richmond, CA area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory experience who is interested in building their skills in LC-MS, Chemistry, and/or Molecular testing.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience and a strong attention to detail. Experience in a clinical, pharmaceutical, toxicology, or other laboratory environment is preferred, but certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process biological and other laboratory specimens for testing.

• Perform routine laboratory procedures in accordance with established SOPs and safety protocols.

• Assist with sample preparation and workflow for LC-MS, Chemistry, and/or Molecular testing.

• Operate laboratory equipment and instruments as trained.

• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

• Accurately label, track, and organize patient and laboratory specimens.

• Assist with quality control activities and maintain accurate laboratory records.

• Enter and document laboratory information accurately in the LIS and other applicable systems.

• Follow established procedures for specimen handling, storage, and disposal.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

• Assist Medical Technologists and other laboratory staff with day-to-day testing operations.

• Adhere to all laboratory safety, quality, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements.

• Perform additional laboratory support duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field preferred.

• Previous laboratory experience preferred, particularly in a clinical, toxicology, pharmaceutical, or research laboratory.

• Experience with LC-MS, Chemistry, Molecular testing, or sample preparation is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed written procedures.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems is preferred.

• No California CLS license or professional certification required.

Shift & Benefits

• Day Shift: Tuesday–Saturday

• $25.00–$35.00/hr, depending on experience

• 1-year contract with potential opportunity to transition to a permanent position
