Description



As the Clinical Manager - Autism Services, you will provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight for ChildServe’s Autism Day Program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services that support children and families. Serving as a subject matter expert, this role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of autism programming while mentoring and supporting clinical staff and program leaders. The Clinical Manager collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams - including therapy, nursing, ABA, families, and community partners - to promote coordinated, effective care and positive outcomes. Based at ChildServe’s Des Moines location, this position provides direct support and oversight for all autism services delivered at that site.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Program Leadership & Clinical Excellence - Provide leadership and oversight for the Autism Day Program’s curriculum, structure, and service philosophy across multiple Iowa locations. Model effective engagement strategies and individualized goal implementation with children receiving services. Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor program outcomes to ensure high-quality service delivery. Serve as a subject matter expert on autism supports, sensory needs, communication strategies, and behavior support practices.
  • Evidence-Based Practice & Collaboration - Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, child-centered care. Promote and monitor the consistent implementation of evidence-based practices that support skill development, communication, and self-regulation. Provide clinical guidance and coaching to program leaders and staff on best practices within Autism Day Program classrooms.
  • Team Leadership & Family Experience - Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams through effective supervision and performance management. Foster employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention through strong leadership and support. Address family feedback and concerns in a timely, professional manner to ensure a positive family experience.
  • Compliance & Operational Oversight - Ensure compliance with all internal policies, external regulations, accreditation standards, and service requirements. Maintain accountability for program operations, including service authorizations, utilization, billing processes, and budget performance. Drive operational efficiency and financial stewardship while ensuring exceptional care outcomes. 

What You'll Need

  • Master’s degree.
  • Five years of experience working with children with autism.
  • Experience with classroom management, group instruction, trauma informed care, early autism intervention, and challenging behavior support is strongly preferred.
  • Clinical License required. BCBA certification and license is preferred.
  • Must qualify as a ChildServeauthorized driver, including maintaining a valid driver's license for the past three years and passing required vehicle safety and motor vehicle record checks.
  • Lift up to 35lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
