Clinical Supervisor/Therapist ASAM 3.5 Residential Services

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and quality assurance for the ASAM 3.5 residential treatment program while maintaining a reduced caseload of clients. The position is responsible for supervising clinical the programming, ensuring compliance with ASAM Criteria and regulatory requirements, guiding treatment planning and service delivery, and providing direct therapeutic services to support client recovery and program effectiveness.

• Provides clinical leadership and oversight for the ASAM 3.5 Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Treatment Program, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with ASAM Criteria, agency policies, licensing standards, accreditation requirements, and payer expectations. 

• Provides administrative and clinical oversight including administrative supervision to the case managers, review of documentation, treatment planning, case consultation, staff development, performance management, and coaching to support quality service delivery. May provide clinical supervision to assigned staff. 

• Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of program services to ensure effective treatment interventions, client engagement, and achievement of program outcomes. 

• Conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and other clinical evaluations as needed to determine level of care, treatment needs, and appropriateness for admission, continued stay, transfer, or discharge. 

• Maintains a clinical caseload and serves as primary therapist for assigned clients, providing individual, group, and family therapy utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment approaches. 

• Oversees the development and ongoing review of individualized treatment plans, ensuring goals and interventions are clinically appropriate and address substance use, mental health, trauma, recovery, and discharge planning needs. 

• Facilitates or co-facilitates therapeutic groups and other core treatment programming to support client recovery, skill development, relapse prevention, and emotional wellness. 

• Reviews client progress through ongoing assessment and case consultation, ensuring appropriate utilization of ASAM dimensions, continued stay criteria, and level-of-care decisions. 

• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provides clinical direction regarding client care, risk management, discharge planning, and service coordination. 

• Collaborates with medical providers, psychiatric providers, case managers, referral sources, child welfare agencies, probation and court personnel, and other community partners, with appropriate client consent, to support coordinated care. 

• Provides clinical consultation and support regarding crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and management of complex client needs within the residential setting. 

• Monitors clinical documentation for quality, timeliness, compliance, and adherence to agency, licensing, accreditation, and funding requirements. 

• Completes all required clinical documentation within established timelines and ensures supervisees meet documentation standards. 

• Supports staff onboarding, training, professional development, and implementation of evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment practices. 

• Assists with program development, quality improvement initiatives, data collection, compliance monitoring, audits, and preparation for accreditation and licensing reviews. 

• Participates in child and family team meetings, case conferences, court proceedings, utilization reviews, and other meetings necessary to support client treatment and program operations. 

• Participates in a 24-hour on-call rotation and provides clinical consultation and support as needed.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field. 

• 2 years of social service experience in his/hers/their respective discipline. 

• Clinical license issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Mental Health Counselor or Clinical Addictions Counselor. LCSW or LCAC preferred.
