The Closing Team Member helps ensure the restaurant finishes each day clean, organized, stocked, secure, and ready to deliver an exceptional guest experience the following morning. This role supports both guests and teammates during the evening rush, completes assigned closing duties with urgency and attention to detail, and follows all food-safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
A successful Closing Team Member is dependable, positive, team-oriented, and willing to stay focused until every assigned task is completed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide friendly, attentive service to every guest through the final order of the evening.
• Support front-of-house or kitchen operations during dinner and late-evening service.
• Complete assigned closing checklists accurately and on time.
• Clean, sanitize, and organize work areas, equipment, dining room areas, restrooms, storage spaces, and exterior areas as assigned.
• Break down, wash, sanitize, and properly store smallwares, utensils, dishes, and equipment.
• Restock food, paper goods, sauces, beverages, cleaning supplies, and other operational items for the next shift.
• Follow all food-safety procedures, including proper handwashing, temperature control, labeling, rotation, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Properly handle and dispose of food, trash, cardboard, grease-related materials, and recycling according to restaurant procedures.
• Assist with closing cash, dining room, drive-thru, kitchen, or dishwashing responsibilities as assigned by the shift leader.
• Communicate shortages, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, unfinished tasks, or guest issues to a manager immediately.
• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and high-energy team environment.
• Remain clocked in and available until assigned closing responsibilities are completed and approved by a leader.
